On Saturday, February 24th, alumni from around the world united for one common cause: Giving back. From South Africa to Norway and back to California, Gauchos from 3 different continents served at numerous non-profit organizations to help make our communities a better place. We totaled 2,078 hours of community service and are so thankful for our dedicated alumni who showed their UCSB pride. If you’d like to help plan next year’s event, please email samantha.putnam@ucsb.edu. For more inspiring images of Gauchos participating, check out our Instagram, and facebook sites.

Legacy Scholarship Recipients Selected

The UCSB Alumni Association Awards Committee has selected next year’s Legacy Scholarship recipients from an applicant pool of nearly 100 students. The UCSB Alumni Legacy Scholarship provides $2,000 awards for legacy students that are demonstrating a commitment to the excellence of UCSB and the community through academic achievements, leadership and involvement in campus clubs and organizations. The 2018-19 Legacy Scholarship recipients are Carina Motta (Ecology & Evolution), Carly Pawell (Chemical Engineering), Connor Guttman (Chemistry), Kendall Post (Environmental Studies) and Naomi Stoodley (Cello Performance).
